SUSS Intro to Surgery 2013: SET and Beyond

Sydney University Surgical Society are excited to host “Introduction to Surgery: SET and Beyond”.

 

Speakers:

A/Prof. Michael Vallely – Dept. Cardiothoracic Surgery, RPAH

A/Prof. David Storey – Dept. Upper GI Surgery, RPAH

 

In this interactive session our speakers will discuss career pathways, the life of a surgeon, technology & the future of surgery as well as the logistics of surgical training in Australia, i.e. the Surgical Education & Training (SET) program.

 

Whether or not you’re interested in a career in surgery at this early stage, this lecture is a fantastic opportunity particularly for stage 1 and 2 medical students to gain insight into the surgical training process and surgery as a career.

SUSS Neurosurgery Grand Rounds

SUSS Neurosurgery Grand Rounds

Sydney University Surgical Society are excited to host Neurosurgery Student Grand Rounds.

Dr Brindha Shivalingam of RPA will be presenting cases in neurosurgery with associated imaging and management.

Principles of surgical management of nervous system pathology will be outlined, and these rounds will offer some insight into the practicalities of neurosurgery. This is also a great opportunity for Stage 2 students to test your neuroanatomy ahead of the spot test the following week.
